Who is responsible for your data

Lawalocals operates this website and decides how the data you enter here is handled. Under the GDPR it is the controller for that data.

What we collect

When you send a booking request we collect your name, your WhatsApp number, and the details of the booking itself: the tour, the start date, the number of travellers, whether you ride as a passenger or self-drive, and the resulting price, deposit and balance. We also record the status of the request and when it was made.

We never see or store your card details. The deposit is handled by Stripe on its own payment page; we receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We use your details to pass your request to the local operator, to take the deposit, and to let the operator reach you to confirm — all necessary to take the steps you have asked for and to perform the resulting contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep records of payments because Dutch tax law requires it (Article 6(1)(c)). We use technical logs to keep the site secure and to prevent fraud, which is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).

Who receives your data

Your name, number and booking details go to Easy Rider Vietnam Loops in Dalat, because they need them to contact you and run your tour. Payments are processed by Stripe. The booking is stored using Google Firebase, and our payment function runs in Google’s European region. This website is hosted by mijn.host in the Netherlands.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Sending your data to Vietnam

Vietnam is not covered by a European adequacy decision, which means it is not formally recognised as offering equivalent data protection. We send only what the operator needs to deliver the tour you booked, and we do so on the basis that the transfer is necessary to perform the contract you asked us to arrange (Article 49(1)(b) GDPR).

What this site stores on your device

Your browser keeps a copy of your own booking details so they are not lost if a page reloads. This stays on your device and is not shared. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Page fonts are loaded from Google’s font service, which means Google can see your IP address when the page loads.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for seven years, the period Dutch law requires for business administration. Requests that never became bookings are deleted sooner, once they are no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable form. Contact us using the details above or the WhatsApp number on our contact page.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or to the authority where you live.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date shown at the top.
